OK, so let’s make a start. First, take in a good long deep breath and hold it.
And by way of your mouth, in the form of a long low deep sigh, release the breath slowly now.
And let go of all your surface tensions. That’s right, let it all flow out on the breath.
And now, with your eyes open. Roll your eyes up as far as they will comfortably go. As though you are trying to look at the inside of your forehead.
And keeping your eyes rolled up. Now, slowly bring down your eyelids.
And if your eyelids are fluttering, that’s fine, they often do when the eyelids relax and close in this slightly unusual way.
And with your eyes closed, I want you to play a game of pretending. I want you to pretend, that just for a moment or two, your eyelids are glued, and stuck, and bonded together.
I want you to pretend your eyelids are glued, and stuck, and bonded so tightly together that they won’t come apart. That they can’t no matter how hard you might try.
And while you’re still pretending that your eyelids are stuck together, try to separate your eyelids.
But they won’t separate. They won’t come apart. They won’t open, providing you just keep imagining, that your eyelids are glued and stuck and bonded together.
Your eye boughs will probably life up as you test your eyelids. But you eyelids won’t come apart no matter how hard you might try.
And now, stop testing your eyelids, and simply relax.
And imagine all those heavy, tired and sleepy feelings in and around your eyes covering you like a blanket of beautiful peaceful relaxation.
Imagine every muscle in your body becoming loose, and limp and very comfortable with relaxation.
And if your tongue is pressing on the roof of your mouth, this is a sign of so remaining tension, so bring it down and let it rest. Let it float in the middle of your mouth. And let it remain there, at least for the duration of this session.
And let every breath you release, relax you deeper and deeper. Because it feels good to be a peace and to keep relaxing.
And the deeper you relax, the better you feel, and the better you feel, the deeper you relax.
And you drift down, down, down, deeper and deeper into very pleasant sleepy relaxation.
And like the ripples on a pond onto which the final pebble has be thrown, your everyday thoughts are dissipating, smoothing out and fading away.
Your everyday thoughts are becoming quiet, and calm, and still. X3.
And while you keep relaxing, and enjoy listening to the comforting sound of my voice, every word I speak gives you a greater feeling of peace, harmony and security.

And to deepen and improve your relaxation still further, in a moment, when I ask you to and not before, open and close your eyes, and as you close your eyes you will relax deeper, much deeper.
So to relax deeper, open your eyes now, that’s right, open your eyes … And now close your eyes. As you relax deeper and deeper. As you go down, down, down. Deeper and deeper.
And as you continue to release, to relax and to let go even more with each breath you exhale.
Picture in front of you 10 steps going down. Imagine these steps however you wish, because you’re going to use these steps to transport you further and deeper down into hypnotic relaxation.
Because in a moment, I shall count from 10 down to zero, and with each and every number I count, you take a corresponding step down these steps in your imagination, and each step takes you deeper into hypnotic relaxation.
So get ready to take your first step down, as I start the count with, 10. And your journey down to profound physical and mental relaxation begins.
9. Let the sound of my voice be your guide into peace, tranquillity, and healing.
8. Your entire mind-body system is relaxing and de-stressing in many wonderful and beneficial ways.
